Friday Finds

Check out Blake Bergstrom’s blog. A great analogy on trusting God

Another one on “Work” – Anna talks to us about turning our jobs into joys.

And I can’t resist….Christians with Big Butts. Scott Williams' humor makes a good point.

Treat yourself to a low-cal, low-fat (0 point) really good soup while your kids are chomping down their mac and cheese. Progresso Light Soups! At 60 calories per serving, you can eat the whole can for a whopping 120 calories. My favorite: Southwestern-Style Vegetable.

Come join Dirk and I for Ballroom Dancing classes! We meet with a diverse group of ages the 2nd Friday of each month (Friday, January 11 for the next class). The cost is $15 a couple from 7:00 – 9:00 at Transformation Fitness Center, south of 33rd at 14701 North Kelly in Edmond. (Enter from the back door.) This is a beginning class and we learn a new dance or two each class. We laugh a lot and learn a little. Get a sitter and come try something new. Let me know if you need more information. It’s a blast!

  1. I will have to tell Wendy about the ballroom classes. Her and her boyfriend go to classes on Tuesday nights at another place and LOVE it!

  2. OK, so I TOTALLY want to go to the dancing classes!!! This will take lots of prayer and sweet talking to get my hubby to go!!!

How fun though! I knew a couple who took lesons to learn a choreographed dance for their 'first dance' at their wedding! Its made me want to take lessons ever since! Maybe you'll see us there!

  5. I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the soup! Just because it is so diet-friendly, doesn't mean it's healthy. (I won't tell my six-year old what you said or she'd want to call you...you'd be on the phone for an hour listening to all the negatives.) :)

Man...AGAIN, I wish I lived closer to all you guys. How fun is that dancing?!?!?

  6. Shanna-yes, please tell Wendy! It's a fun time!

Christie-tell your hubby that there are plenty of husbands there that are sacrificing for their wives! Then, they end up having fun!

Scott-don't know for sure. But, we're no stars, let me tell you!

Elizabeth-you're right--plenty of sodium as usual in a canned soup, but a MUCH better, quick choice than some other things.

  7. I was actually talking about the MSG in soups. I'm just weird, though. I'll still eat lots of bad things, but I'm anal about not consuming MSG. :)

  9. My wife loves the Progresso Lentil soup. Our idea of making something healthy is to drown out all the "bad for you" stuff with plenty of sour cream or shredded cheese. (grin)

  10. I just found your blog. I'm excited to see what I can learn from you as a homeschool mom of a 9year old, almost 8 and, well, a newborn, but she has a few years before we learn ABC's and 123's!

Hey Natalie! I'm glad to see you here. I didn't know you were educating your kids at home...very cool. And I kept up with your baby progress by your comments on other blogs. Thanks for leaving a comment. Hope we can meet face to face soon!

  12. Robin -- I've seen your comments on other blogs (Cindy's and Natalie's?) so I popped over to yours for a read. My husband and I are Lifers -- Ballroom dancing is on our 2008 list of "fun things to try" -- send me more info if you have it. I'd love to check it out!!
