Pressed

Pressed beyond measure and pressed to all lengths

Pressed so intensely, it seems beyond strength

Pressed in the body, and pressed in the soul

Pressed in the mind, till the dark surges roll

Pressure by foes, and pressure by friends

Pressure on pressure, till life nearly ends

Pressed into knowing no helper but God

Pressed into loving the staff and the rod

Pressed into liberty where nothing clings

Pressed into faith for impossible things

Pressed into living a life in the Lord

Pressed into living a Christ-life outpoured

When we are pressed ……what comes out?

  1. Well lately, not anything that great. I'm a great mom when things are going good. When i'm under stress or tired or being "pressed" in any way it's not real pretty what comes out.

    Jimmy-no, didn't write it..sorry, I'll add that info-I think that's the shortest comment you've ever left--anywhere! (grin)

  4. I love reading your site everyday. I never know if it will be those sweet grands, your kiddos, marriage tips or something thought provoking.

When I'm pressed I'd like to say my faith oozes out. Sometimes it's just the ugly human nature...

  5. I agree with Erin. When we are pressed, I don't tend to do like I should. I get cranky! Definitely something to think about.

  6. For me, ketchup.

    (You guys are too serious.)

  7. I actually think that I am at my best when pressed. When I am pressed it draws me nearer to relying on God for all things. Where as when I am not pressed I have too much opportunity to try and rely on myself. Which really doesn't work out that good.

    Love the Poem!

When I'm pressed the Word comes out! It has to, or I'll just be crushed!

  10. The older I get the more I actually enjoy getting pressed. I used to run away back to easy town

  11. this is cool... I use to be pressed by the world and all of the shiney things that made me follow them. I would much rather be where I am today - pressed into Him - no matter what comes out - the journey is worth it!

  12. Thanks for your honesty...well, for some of you (MountainMan (cheezy grin))

I found this poem when at a time in my life when I was REALLY being pressed with my circumstances. It helped me then..it helps me now!
