The I Am of All I Ams

I recently completed a YouVersion reading plan "The Book of Mysteries" by Jonathan Cahn. Day 2 of this plan was mind-blowing and life altering for me.  

Mr Cahn shares with his readers the name of God, YHVH, (Yahweh) the sacred name of God that is fairly familiar to Bible readers. 

"It is the most sacred of Names, so sacred some refuse to say it. And yet you say it all the time."

"When you speak of yourself, you say the Name. When you feel happy, you say, 'I am happy.' And when you're not, you say 'I am sad'. When you tell others who you are, you say, 'I am' followed by your name. "YHVH means 'I Am.'

Isn't that profound?  God is so woven into our existence that we aren't able to speak of ourselves without first speaking of Him!  

This realization has made me very aware that when I speak negative words about myself, I am actually taking His name in vain!  I am His precious, chosen daughter.  He created me for good works, yet many times I am blasting near profanities in His face when I speak negatively about myself.  

Let's all be careful when we are tempted to say, "I am worthless, I am stupid, I am a bad mom."  Instead, let's remember that He is our origin, our creator, who gives us our very breath, and let's praise Him remembering that "I am enough" because I AM goes before me!!

I highly recommend this plan.

For Married Men

Saturday, Dirk and I had the opportunity to share during three breakout sessions during a marriage seminar.  This is the hand-out Dirk compiled for the men.  Have any more thoughts or suggestions to add?  Wives, your input is encouraged too!

For the Men

LOVE your wife…with actions and words.  Ex:  open her car door, praying, reading your Bible, tithe, help put the children to bed.

Be the head…not the tail! (or the butt) Spiritually lead her!

Tell her she’s beautiful.

Listen better….turn off the TV or gaming system.

Write love notes

Bring small gifts…it really is the thought that counts!

Give her longer kisses…not just the peck on your way out the door.

Leave work at work.

Continue to pursue her…even though you’ve already caught her.

Hold her hand.

E-mail and text her

Take her on surprise dates

Take care of the cars

Finish those home repair projects (or hire someone to finish them)

Read your Bible and pray out loud for your family

Give her lots of cuddle time

Be her best friend

Tell her you love her often….and tell her why.

Share your dreams with her:  Family Vision
