Electricity is important! We were without yesterday!! We made it fine with our woodburning stove to keep us warm, and it did a great job of warming soup, too. Kody seranaded us with his guitar by left-over wedding candle light. Dirk's dad came down to keep warm, and even when the power came back on at 7:30 pm, he stayed until 11 doing a jig-saw puzzle. It was a good time. I think Dirk LOVED it! (What is it with men and roughing it??)
Here's the REALLY bad part....we still don't have any internet!! So, I'm posting this from church (we serve at Wednesday night Switch).
Keep checking back...surely we'll be on again soon....I still have more to come from lessons I've learned from Dirk, and I want you to share in them too!
How about you? Did you loose power or internet?
i can't say we lost power! it was 50-70 when yall were getting hit! boo! glad you have power restored...
ReplyDeletei assume you serve at NW?
cuz...i was thinking about getting back into stu min...
We are one of the few in Norman who did NOT lose power! We are VERY blessed! We've had everyone here, so we've been having a blast. (I'm secretly praying our friends and family don't get their power back for awhile...I like all this fun.) :)
ReplyDeleteRobin, we didn't lose power or trees or nothin. That's practically a miracle in my book since the rest of this place looked like a war zone!
ReplyDeleteI'm w/ Cindy, we were fortunate during this ice storm. We didn't loose power, no down trees...! We normally loose power on a nice summer day! :-)
ReplyDeleteLoosing power sucks!
haha! Anne---you assume....wrong! We still have two teen boys at Edmond (one plays in the band, the other in the leadership program XL). I did, however, go see Anna speak last night to her Switch group at NW (it was AWESOME btw..) It's been a hard choice for us to make...but she has great leaders and you would certainly add to that! Go for it!!
ReplyDeleteGlad the rest of you have power. I'm writing this from Panera...but just got a call that our wi-fi is supposed to be back up....I see when I get home!
Thanks for the prayers!
