Debt Free

At the library the other day, I had to return some books that were overdue.

I paid my fines, and the female computer voice responded, “All fines have been erased”.

I like that!

It reminds me of grace.

Each time we confess our sins, Jesus tells us, “All fines have been erased”. The difference is He paid them, not me.

Hard to believe, but true!

  1. It's true. But, it's too bad so many Christians can't accept His forgiveness. They keep the guilt and it really messes them up.

  2. I was raised in a church that believes that your works, along with Jesus, are what gets you to heaven. During high school and college, I experimented with different churches and it was really hard for me to believe that His grace and mercy actually covered me. Whenever I did something sinful, I held a lot of guilt and felt unworthy of Him.

Once I finally GOT IT, my whole life changed. Just like paying off our financial debt, it is very freeing!
