Is your life a roller coaster? Do you find yourself moving from one crisis to another, up, down, up, down?
Let’s look at Psalm 84:5-7
Let’s look at Psalm 84:5-7
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
God’s Word tells us that we can move from strength to strength. Even when there are valleys. Can you imagine? Strength to strength! Not high point to high point, but strength to strength.
As we go through this “pilgrimage” the Psalm even tells us that we will pass through the Valley of Baca (weeping) …ever been there? But, it also tells us that we can make that valley into a spring! You know, making lemonade out of lemons, making the best of every situation. Seeing that there is good somewhere past the hard times. Keeping our eyes on the One who is Strength. Seems like it’s a choice.
I don’t know about you, but I choose going from strength to strength.
How about you? Ready for a little less roller coaster life?
I love that concept of strength to strength! Thanks for this!
ReplyDeleteOnly our God could take us from strength to strength. I am so happy I read this...I am going to remember this today! Love you!

How do you manage to stay off the roller coaster and flirt with danger at the same time LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have definitely turned my roller coaster into a kiddie ride... just a few small ups and downs
Roger--guess it's the 50's thing. I'm learning that no matter the risk and danger--and no matter what happens--I know where my Strength is!
ReplyDeleteAmen!

ReplyDeleteSomedays it feels like you just make it through weakness to weakness and are really glad when the day is over.
Yeah..I understand a bit, Jimmy. And when we go from weakness to weakness---well, that's where He shows himself strong...even when it may not seem like it!
ReplyDeleteHey Robin, thanks for coming over to "visit" today on my site. I love this concept of strength to strength. A good one to remember every morning before I face the day!
ReplyDeleteI never understood the whole valley of Baca thing... that's cool:)
ReplyDeleteI love that verse!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this inspiring post today! I needed to hear it. We've had two deaths in the family within the last three weeks and one was very unexpected - my Father-in-Law. It has been very difficult, especially because we really don't know where he stood with Jesus. God is definetly our strength through it all!
ReplyDeleteSee. That response is why I call you Mama Meadows. (grin)
ReplyDeleteAnd you're not the first to call me that! (grin)
