Hard Questions for Me Today

Summer Re-run (orginally posted 11/12/07)

If you never again received a word of praise, affirmation or recognition, would you still do it for Me?

If it seems too hard, too much, too overwhelming, and too heavy, would you still do it for Me?

If you never get your apology, never get your answer; never know for sure, will you still do it for Me?

"Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You're not in the driver's seat; I am. Don't run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I'll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to saving yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? What could you ever trade your soul for? " Mark 8:34-37 (The Message)

This was so good & what I needed today. I just feel like I'm grinding my wheels for nothing, but yet that is TRUE sacrifice. I'm just struggling with those little issues like I spend so much time making sure my kids eat healthy, brushing & flossing their teeth, playing, doing activities & reading to them, but yet they still get sick & still throw fits & still act like little hooligans! I guess no matter what you do, there's no guarantee, but yet you still have to keep doing what's right. Mainly I have to do what I know is right & then let go & trust God. Thanks for helping me see this.

If you try and fail, or even fail to try, will you still accept forgivness from Him? Don't know why you made me think that. (grin)
