So, what are you reading right now?
I'm doing some school preparation and trying to keep up with these two teen boys.
I don't have any fiction going right now, although I usually do.
Besides going over Algebra II, World History and Biology...
I'm reading:
"101 Ways to Get and Keep His Attention" - Michelle McKinney Hammond
(can't ever learn too much about that!)
"How to Have Real Conversation with Your Teen" - Ron Habermas & David Olshine
(an easy-to-read format with some nice ideas)
(an easy-to-read format with some nice ideas)
"I Kissed Dating Good-bye" - Joshua Harris
(I had considered reading this with my boys. But the other day at Mardel, I came across another book we'll read. I'm buying three copies, one for each of us.) It is:
"Eyes Wide Open" - Brienne Murk
This book discusses the emotional bonds that can develop before dating even becomes an issue---a little more where we're at right now.
Anyone read it?
I'll let you know how it goes.
And tomorrow I'll share some dating statistics I recently came across.
What are you reading? Do share!
I just finished "The Almost True Story of Ryan Fisher," a fascinating fiction (the first fiction I've read in a good long while) about a real estate agent named Ryan Fisher who doesn't believe in God, but decides to move to Bartlesville, Oklahoma to plant a church.
ReplyDeleteI saw that at Mardel the other day. The story line seems strangely familiar! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have just started Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller
ReplyDeleteNonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality
So far it is pretty good.
I am also on a Bible reading plan that leads me through the New Testament 4 times this year.
Eyes wide open sounds intriguing...maybe I should do it before IKDG? Email me. I agree that as I've been reading it, it seems a little ways down the road for us.
ReplyDeleteOoo I think I need to read Eyes Wide Open, I just might have to go purchase that.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Courageous Leadership and a super cool devo that an awesome mom gave me--My Utmost for His Highest!
I'm reading "Faith and Confession" by Charles Capps. I know, I know. So Pentacostal-like of me. I'm just curious. After I finish it, I have a feeling I'll be ready for some sappy Sparks.
ReplyDeleteJust finished Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteJust started Urban Christian by Ray Bakke.
I want to take another spin through A Thomas Jefferson Education ... but I think I lent my copy to someone.
My big fiction read from the summer was East of Eden.
Can't wait for the dating stats. Thanks.
I'm reading....
ReplyDeleteChazown by Craig Groeschel
The five love languages of children by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell
Between Sunday's by Karen Kingsbury
Haha. I've read that 101 Ways book.
ReplyDeleteLast night, I started "The Conscious Bride", a book my sister sent me about the emotional rollercoaster many women experience (but don't dare talk about!) during their engagement/first year of marriage. It's very interesting.
After I get that polished off, I'm on to "A Woman After God's Own Heart", my bday gift from Ali. :)
